DRAMAS is driven by unconventional chord progressions and structures, spare and subtle synthesis of organic sounds, a blend of soft yet powerful synths, crisp percussions and harmonized vocals. Speaking about ‘Bloodbath’ DRAMAS said: “We wanted to make a song consisting of real life sounds like footsteps, table tennis, crushed ice, a car crash or party people. When we finished it, we deleted almost everything. It tells the story of all evil in this world, of offender and victim, of observation and ignorance, of dependence and autonomy. We are not lost, we are not in need of enduring anything. We have the capability to choose and act, now!"
DRAMAS is fascinated with the idea of unconscious opposites and contradictions including lightness and weight, permanence and transience, spirit and flesh. They celebrate the coexistence of these opposites with their very own musical sound as cineastic synthesizer, drum and piano sounds merge with Viktoria Winter's unmistakable voice to form a whole.
DRAMAS have skillfully mastered the art of the in-between. Between a heavy heart and the knowledge that everything changes, that nothing stands still. The Viennese art pop duo released their debut album in 2018, Nothing Is Permanent, securing airplay across Europe with single ‘Mess’. This was followed with EP’s Libra (2018) and Flatline (2019). DRAMAS have also toured with British composer and producer Cosmo Sheldrake. DRAMAS are set to release their new LP in the spring of 2021.
